You know there's this little magic thing that can be done. If you're really feeling hot about a particular response someone has made and have written a fire and brimstone reply, please re read what you wrote BEFORE you hit submit. Ask yourself, "does this really further discussion? or is it going to make things personal? is it worth getting all worked up over? is it that important to be 'right'?" You may actually decide it isn't worth submitting. I know there have been times when I hit the "close window" instead of "submit" even after writing a lengthy reply.

We're all going to have our off days. Some days it's just best to fire up the XBox 360, and play some Call of Duty 4.

This is a reminder/clarification of the rule about posting personal info of other people.

Please remember to NOT post personal information of other members without permission. This includes, but is not limited to, photos, real names, locations, events, etc. This can seriously affect other peoples lives in negative ways.
Even if this information is publicly available, it's important not to repost or re-link it without permission.

I've been trying to reduce the 'trans' web presence of myself, for instance, to improve my employment prospects (I did just get a new job, though)

It's also important to no post other peoples copyrighted stuff, such as text, photos, etc. without permission.

These statements should also apply to info about people not on the forum, but there are public figures that are discussed here, so I'll overlook that. However, please recognize what you may be doing to people by posting that info.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

I'm consolidating the various rules posts that have aggregated over the years.
