Hello all. It has been difficult to get registered and into this site.

I have struggled with the hectic pace of my life and it does not regularly allow me much free time. I am a PhD student in mental health and as a trans woman in transition I am really under the gun. Just a few weeks ago I went on trial before a committee dealing with program retention. The charge was that I had spoken to some classmates and was "deeply offensive." When I asked what I said that was offensive, it was that I came out!!! Because of the non-discrimination policy they could not charge me with being trans, so they used my coming out as the charge. What a world. I survived but I have to get a "mental health clearance" before I can teach again or see clients.

I am sorry. I just had needed to share. On the bright side, in June, I have been asked to lead the local Pride parade and will be speaking on the global aspects of fear and hatred we face.

Demographically, I am over 30 and I am divorced. I have had FFS and I go for breast augmentation in two weeks and I will see "Marci" before the end of the year!!!

Welcome to the forum. I don't understand why it would be difficult to get registered but oh well.

What made it difficult was that my time does not regularly allow coming back to a site repeatedly. My free time usually comes in longer passages that are more spaced out.

To get registered you apply. Get an email. Respond within 24 hours and then have a set length of time to log-in. Between mid-terms and finals there is not even extra time to breathe.

I can accept that I may not be the most time efficient gal around but I do combine full-time doctoral studies, teaching as adjunct faculty, community involvements, and transition requirements. Yes, I have no real life.

Hi and welcome Dr Darla!

I'm sorry to hear of your struggles, I would think that people involved with mental health would be more more tolerant of a TS woman coming out; I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I am nonetheless.

I'm curious to know which pride parade you're involved with, or, more specifically it's not the one in northampton, is it?

Again welcome!

Cassie
