If you put a raisin in a glass of champagne, it will keep floating to the top and then sinking to the bottom margarita

if you throw a cat from the window of a high rise block after swinging it around briskly by its tail it will land on its feet evil

Wow, Nat! That IS a useless fact, considering that in the world I live in, no one would ever, ever, ever do that. *closes eyes and plugs up ears* Lalalalala lalalalalalala lalalalalalalala lalalalalalalalalala lalalalalalalalala

Guess I should contribute a useless fact of my own... *thinks hard* Damn it, a philosophy grad-school dropout should be able to come up with any number of useless facts...

Oh! How about this one? Heraclitus the Obscure of Ephesus, one of the greatest and weirdest pre-Socratic thinkers (in my reckoning), died of edema (or oedema, for Nat), after a day of unsuccessful self-treatment including slathering himself with cow shit and lying in the sunlight.

Historical facts count! Even if they may at their core be merely literary facts...

cowfront cowback It takes 3,000 cows to supply the NFL with enough leather to make a year's worth of footballs. (So why do they call them "pigskins"? shrug )

Here in Lotusland you can see the Sunset Twice in one day. Start on the beach, See the Sunset, The Drive up to the viewing area of one of the local mountains, To see it again.

You need

1.A Car.
2.Good weather in Lotusland (It rains a lot here)
3.Good Traffic on the Sunny Day (Traffic can suck here)
4.You must really love the Sunset.

Here are some:

When Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's home run record in 1961, he was not once intentionally walked by the opposing pitcher. (Note: Mickey Mantle batted after him in the order).

Also in baseball: The only man to ever pitch a perfect game and lose was Harvey "Hard Luck" Haddix of the 1959 Pittsburgh Pirates. The game was lost in the 13th inning on a fielding error. This was an "official" perfect game into the 1990s, when Baseball changed their definition. It now counts as unofficial. Before being disallowed, it was also the longest perfect game ever pitched.

There are three golf balls on the moon.

The first woman in space was Valentina Tereshkova.

Any three digit number multiplied by 13, then by 11, then by 7 will result in a six digit number that repeats the three digit number. For example 515 x 13 x 11 x 7 = 515515.

If you break a slime mold into several pieces, it will slowly reassmble itself (like the liquid metal terminator in T2).

On average, you are probably only six feet away from a spider at any given time.

Cheers.
