I had my hair cut to just below my chin in a "Bob" . My hair was below my shoulders when I got it cut. Everyone says," I look cute,". But I am thinking about growing it out.

Then I read an article on line about women who hide behind their hair because they are insecure. Instead of having a style which suits there face, and features. Alot of women keep their hair long because their husbands want them to.

My hair is also, fine, and I color to cover my gray roots.

I don't know why I obsess so much about my hair.

Obsessing about one's hair is not a bad thing considering one of the alternatives leaves you looking like a neanderthal. Anyway, I think most of us ts girls tend to obsess about everything that has a bearing on our prettiness and womanhood.

Bobs can be awesomely cute, so screw what the magazines say and do what you like.

And, of course, PICS PLEASE!! laugh At least, pics suitable for a public forum.

I like bobs and layered cuts in general, but normally I just let my hair grow for a while. I wear it long, either mid back or down to the waist, in part as a mark of cultural heritage (Native American women use their hair long always, at least in South America). And since I can do it, and looks nice for me, why not?

Yup, it can be used to hide yourself, and thanks goodness for that. If you're on the bus and some blabbering drunk sits by your side, you can create a curtain of hair between you and him to avoid any attempt at conversation, or worse (like embarrassing marriage proposals).

longest I ever had my hair was to middle of back.

The one trouble I have with with"bob" haircut, is that when I am looking down( working at desk, etc). Hair ends up in my face.

I have long hair. When I go to the hairstylist I spend $100.00 It is worth it. A "Bob" wouldn't suit me. (To conservative). If I was a politician Then I'd get one. It is O.k to obsess over your hair.

I think I should do it for a job (but really want to be a vet tech insted).I love hair and am curious to see how much grows in. I Think it is ok to obsess about hair. Yeah, my four colours plus a layered cut set me back 95€. Dunno about how many USD that is, but I guess 150 or so. Oh well, my money so I get to decide how I waste it laugh I wear mine mostly shortish. Easy to keep, easy to style, can be varied easily even during the day (thanks to modern styling pastes). And if I want to change the colour radically, it isn't a big project to do so.

Going to my stylist tomorrow for color, and high lights. But no hair cut.

Will probably cost me about $60.00.

Color only, no highlights, no cut, costs me $50 + tip around Boston. I guess there's one good thing for shoulder length hair when you're still pretending to be a boy sometimes, trips to the salon don't yet cost more than the gas to get there.

I'll lose any savings real fast though after I'm full time - I've always wanted extensions... good ones.

I never got boy price, not even when I pretended to be a boy and had short (for a woman) hair. Not fair! frown

Having to color my hair , is taking a toll on my hair's condition. The alternative is to let it go white.

So trying different moisturizing conditioners. I have fine hair. Any suggestions?

I think hair has been one of the most frustrating things I've had to deal with in my transition. It was kind of nice, when I could just slap on a wig, and have perfectly curled and styled hair. Now that my hair is long enough to be styled, I don't know what the eff to do with it. I usually just wear back in a pony tail. How did you all learn to style hair? Just trial and error?

There are several good sites about hair styling on internet, You can ask your stylist to teach you how to style your hair.

There is no way to freakin style hair.

Except when I leave the hairdresser it looks great until the next day when I get my own hands on it.

Most need hands on help which is scarce.

I went To Sally's Beauty Supply. They recommended silk therapy for a conditioner, and Mane&Tail detangler for a leave in conditioner. It seems to be working.

When I came out nineteen months ago I had a crew cut and had to wear wigs until it was long enough to have styled. My natural hair is so curly I wore a Fro through out school just to keep from fighting with it. I went and bought a straightener back in Late April and my boyfriend and myself straitened it ourselves. I color it red about once a month and have had it brunette a couple of times. I also cut it myself the last time, so yea I would say I obsess over my hair constantly. It's the one thing that you can easily do that helps one pass as a lady.

i was lucky my friend is a beauty therapist/hair dresser so she helped me and styled my hair then

i obsess over my hair as i like to look my best and look good as it breeds inner confidence and gives me that glow
