This morning I inadvertently clicked on my bookmark for the blog of LA Times columnist Christine Daniels, the TS woman who transitioned very publicly, and found that the link was dead. So I went to the pages of the Times' columnists and saw she was no longer there. Her last column was on April 4th, and a cursory Google search shows no info about her. Has anybody heard what happened to her? Did she quit? Was she fired?

gosh...that's weird. i had a very nice email correspondence with her for a few months...she and i are both journalists and she gave me some wonderful advice about preparing to come out and how to handle professional stuff. we'd lost touch in the past three or four months, though. hope she turns up somewhere...and will pass on any info i might come acrosss

LA TIMES CONTACT FORM

Thanks, Storm, but that's from a year ago. I corresponded with her last year but haven't heard from her in awhile. Then I found that her blog was totally gone and her last byline at the Times was over two months ago and she's no longer listed among their columnists. No articles about her leaving, either.

She has accepted a settlement.
It includes a gag order.
And a non-compete clause.
Whatever story is here, it isn't now.

I profess no inside knowledge. But the Tribune Co. has either bought her or capped her. The former being muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch more likely.

I think it's time to make a little noise. A gag order ? Isn't that illegal ? I think it's time to hammer a bit on the LA Times.

The LATimes is hiding the fact that they fired Christine Daniels . At one time touted as an the on job transition the LATimes has quietly exited her . Her column and her blog are both gone. We are owed the story and the truth and a group of us are going to start digging to find out the details. We will start by contacting other papers less interested in protecting the LATimes.

I wrote the Times earlier today, myself. If not answer by tomorrow afternoon I'll then move on to the Reader's Representative for the Times. I wrote Christine directly last year, I'm going to look for her email addy in a minute. Hopefully I still have it.

"No inside knowledge" meaning that you're guessing that she was fired, accepted a severance with a gag order?

Unfortunately I can't find any of the emails I traded with her last year...
