I note that those who were quick enough to vilify me personally on ARRSE and other sites have been rather silent over this.

However, this story was only partly about me - it also unwittingly involved the familes of wounded service personnel. At my request, the Mail have also made a large donation to a service charity that supports these men and women.


It was a stitch-up by a particular general who knowingly gave out false information.
