seems really sad that people get offended when i asked a simple inoffensive question like this

Why doesnt it suprise me that most americans have never travelled outside of america ?

it was never meant to offend whatsoever but hey maybe it was taken in that context considering the responses i got from certain people so that i got singled out for it

if i offended then i apologize

Natalie

So, "size matters" on a MTF transsexual forum? smirk (Somewhere in this thead were comments about the sizes of US states versus the sizes of European countries.)
I finally get to use the "smirk" smilie!!! cowfront

Oh, ya... (I don't like being away from home)

A few US states
Cuba (the lovely Guantanamo Naval Base, that is, but not as an inmate)
Mexico by train
El Salvador by earthquake

And, several nearby galaxies, of course.

But, I've never been to Hawaii, or Canada, or even freakin' Alcatraz Island in the middle of San Francisco Bay! shrug

I don't come to the forum very much any more because I am specifically discouraged by things like this from Natalie, Dagny, Deena and a small group of others. I seriously think that I could improve this forum 100% by simply banning about five people. Please prove me wrong. Seeing something so simple and innocuous derailed and smashed into the ground like this makes me so angry.

Thank you for pointing this out Callie. This is partly why I , and quite a number of other girls seldom read the threads or post anymore. It sure would be nice if we could just enjoy ourselves, say what we want, and ask questions without having our character, national origin or home country constantly attacked and insulted.

Some people have led a sheltered life it seems.

Yeah yeah..maybe people should start making a contribution to the forum more and stop making excuses for their lack of participation. In taking part in any discussion, it's generally desirable for people to make some input..any input in a discussion or conversation. This goes for real life too.

I've contributed plenty to this forum Dagny. Take a look at the number of posts I've made over the past few years.

The problem is, positive natured threads get very little response. The negative ones seem to be the most popular, and I don't fancy reading or contributing to the negative topics. There is enough negativity out here in the real world without having to deal with it at genderlife. We are supposed to be helping and supporting one another, not constantly passing judgment or condemning people for their nationality, beliefs, feelings or questions.

Well....the world isn't a very nice place at times., escpecially as regards to transwoman. To try to pretend otherwise, put you're fingers in your ears and go lalalalalala. That won't shut it out forever. Sooner or later it bites everyone on the bum you know...and as one progresses thru life as a TS woman, it not only bites you on the bum but will stick a red hot poker up it at one stage.

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to your future posts.

.....well I must confess. Classes, studying and schoolwork plus my waitress and bartender jobs and now the time spent on job searching and interviewing have kept me away from posting much. I have spent less time on the forum than I used to because of all those things.

As far as the countries in which I have traveled....

Viet Nam
Japan
Thailand
Australia
Barbados
Grand Bahama
Mexico
Wyoming

Additionally, I have been to every U.S state including Puerto Rico, with the exception of Hawaii. I'm sure I will go there some day also.

Before I die I want to visit Africa, Europe and South America
