Mahatma Ghandi, though a devout Hindu, was widely known to admire Jesus; Ghandi often quoted from the Sermon on the Mount, in fact. Once when the missionary E. Stanley Jones met with Ghandi he asked him, "Mr. Ghandi, though you quote the words of Christ often, why is that you appear to so adamantly reject becoming his follower?" Ghandi replied, "Oh, I don't reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It's just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ."

Two very old, very romantic Italian songs in beautiful instrumental versions:
- Non voglio innamorarmi mai (I don't ever want to love again) by Baglioni and Nazzaro.
- Per amore ricomincerei (For love I'd start again) by Terzi, Salerno and D'Amico.
Both from the album Sanremo '72, by the Franck Pourcel orchestra. Took me several hours to clean the sound of scratches and background humming, it's a very old (and very rare) LP.
* Sanremo, the Italian Festival of Song, used to be the place where romantic ballads found their highest expression. Now it's dedicated mostly to rock, but in the 60s and 70s it was the place for all those songs that, in Romance languages, made people sigh and say "I love you." Of all those festivals, the one in 1972 is legendary: the Woodstock of Romantic ballads.

Hiljaisen talven lapsi - The child of a quiet winter
Timo Rautiainen
Composed and Lyrics Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish)
Hiljaisen talven lapsi / The child of a quiet winter
Joka aamu kuljen kotipolkuni / Every morning I walk my home trail eksyen, lumi aina peittää jälkeni. / swerving, the snow always will blot out my tracks Joka ilta saavun kotiovelle, / Every evening I will arrive to my home porch tulitikkutytön kanssa käden lämmitän / and I will warm a hand with a little match girl
. Meri on nyt ilman rantaa, / The sea is now shoreless lapsi hiljaisen talven vaeltaa. / a child of a quiet winter makes his/her way Ainoastaan sade maan seuraa / Only the rain of the earth follows him/her kun äänettömyyteen katoaa. / when he/she dissappears to infinity.
Olit ensilumen lapsi minussa, / You were the child of the earliest snow in me, liian kaunis maailmaani jakamaan. / too beautiful to share my world Elin suruni, tein siitä rakkaani: / I lived my sorrow, made it my beloved: lämmin muisto yösydänunessani. / a warm memory in the midnight dream.
Meri on nyt ilman rantaa, / The sea is now shoreless lapsi hiljaisen talven vaeltaa. / The child of a quiet winter makes his/her way. Ainoastaan sade maan seuraa / Only the rain of the earth follows him/her kun äänettömyyteen katoaa. / when he/she dissappears to the infinity
Toisen suulla lauluni laulan, / I will sing my song with another's mouth kaikkeni kannan kehtojen hautaan. / I will bear everything to the grave of cradles Kylmän sulatan, itseäni kaitsen ja odotan. / I will defrost the cold, I will watch over myself and wait.
Kunpa voisin joskus muuhun herätä / I wish I could wake up to something else sometimes kuin häpeään peilin lävistämään. / than to the shame pierced by the mirror Luojan luoma, vailla suojaa. / God's creation without a shelter Sula maa odottaa lasta hukkuvaa. / The unfrozen land waits for the drowning child
Meri on nyt ilman rantaa, / The sea is now shoreless lapsi hiljaisen talven vaeltaa. / The child of a quiet winter makes his/her way. Taivaani etsintä päättyi kultaan ja kyyneliin. / The search of my heaven ended in gold and tears.

English translation:
Teach me to know your ways and to walk them trustingly step by step I know that what I own, are borrowed goods, and everything is yours. But if your strong hand guides me, I will never see the wrong goal, and for every hope that dies down here, I will receive a greater hope in heaven

Peter Jöback - Stockholm i natt - Stockholm in the night
I settle down and run out without locking I stand on Götgatan it seems always blowing here at Skatteskrapan feel like on the whole sky is falling
I hasten further go north through the night I remember it was here on by Medborgarplatsen that Anna Lindh made her last speech it was in September 2003
The same year we saw sometime in Gondolen Then we saw again and I longed so there was something in the air, the autumn there was fog and light and voices
Refr I see the dirt and darkness in the old town familiar scent of fear from Stureplan and I just want to cry Stockholm is so beautiful in the night
And I go Skeppsbron forward, bending me in the wind it seems to rain now, I dry me on the cheek and on the water there are boats, I guess they yearn from here
I am at Norrmalmstorg and think of Clark Olofsson so many chances, why did he never get anybody and the same thing with me, it is so easy to stay so difficult to go
And I remember that I saw you at Berns Terass and I thought of all that I could have had and I thought of life I lived and I regret the most, how it became so
Refr I see Strandvägen street spread measured and happy I see blue light flicker on south heights I just want to cry Stockholm is so beautiful in the night
I see the dirt and darkness in the old town familiar scent of fear from Stureplan and I just want to cry Stockholm is so beautiful in the night
And you called in the end and I rushing out all words, all dreams of happy endings it is finally now it will happen in Stockholm in the night
In at Riche small bar is full and warm and I feel a hand picking up my arm and I just want to cry so beautiful is life in the night
Refr I see the dirt and darkness in the old town familiar scent of fear from Stureplan and I just want to cry Stockholm is so beautiful in the night
I see Strandvägen street spread measured and happy I see blue light flicker on south heights I just want to cry Stockholm is so beautiful in the night
in the night
in the night
