Thank goodness for the U.S. first amendment, so that people like David Popescu are free to say what they think, so that we know who they are, so that we know who is dangerous.

Yes, it is disturbing...and not just because the little coward said it (he wouldn't have the fortitude to do his own dirty work); but because some other disturbed coward may hear of these words, and give some innocent person, someone brave enough to live their life free, a beating or worse.

I just don't understand how someone can twist "Love thy neighbor as thyself" into "except for the ones that make you uncomfortable, it's o.k. to kill those neighbors"

The challenge for me personally when I hear someone make a statement that clearly Jesus would view as hypocritical and which contained the seeds of hate is to react in my heart with patience rather than wrath. Everyone through their actions and words is an opportunity for me to grow. Sometimes I fail to meet the challenge. When I do fail I know that I still have some experiences to live through before I can truly love others as self. Tough standard because it pierces my own heart just as making the statement exposed his for all to hear.

It doesn't have to be hate, it can be love.

Since gays suffer so much in this world where they are so rejected, perhaps it'd be better for them if society ended their suffering by killing them all. That's the sort of logic a certain radio show seems to have.

You are making that statement from a place I neither comprehend nor recognize. As you have oft pointed out words can be re-framed by the author to accomplish the author's agenda. If you see love in the heart of someone who calls for the destruction of the physical manifestation of the indestructible soul and hence is creating discord in the hearts of others then your logic fails in my opinion. I have conquered that challenge, however, because my reaction to your statement is truly peaceful and harmonious.

God loved people so much that he sent Jesus down to get killed in the name of love, right?

So maybe God loves gays so much that he'll... umm.... send backward rednecks (aka conservatives) to kill them? ? D:?

I mean... if you believe that God sent Jesus down to die, the logic would be that God shows love with human sacrifice, so it'd only be logical that love and sacrifice (death) are intertwined.

That should've been his argument instead of "It's in the Bible." Idiot.

We're smart people who have suffered a lot. We can make excellent arguments for inflicting huge amounts of suffering on others. I'm sure we've arrived at them at some point, trying to figure out why we were treated a certain way.

We could start something that would make the Nazis look like wimps.

In this world, everybody is trying to do good. Never forget that.

Sure and Jesus could have accepted what he was offered by Satan or he could have even wiped out the Pharisees and Sanhedrin but that would not have achieved the necessary result.

Those hateful statements are about as anti-God as it gets.

Well, no shortage of morons on either side of the border. One thing for sure, we have some pretty tough hate crime laws up here, and the will to prosecute. It will be interesting to follow this one.

I can't decide which is worse: that people like that can run for office, or that there are people out there that share those sentiments enough to vote for them.

Well he certainly has bat's in his belfry, If he had made those comments in Missouri he Would be hit with hate crime charges. What's sweet is our state even protects Gender Expression as well. Although I haven't seen it enforced yet for our community.

Or perhaps this episode shows that if god could even love a schmuck like him, maybe it won't be so bad for the rest of us...

I'm not that happy with anti-hate speech laws. And around here we have many of those.

All they do is force people to keep those feelings hidden, and that can be worse.

I much rather get called all things evil under the sun that get cornered some evening and kicked to death, like Reena Virk.
