You have to delete the space between Free and Republic.

I wouldn't want for them to detect this place, and a direct link could do that.

PS: If you read the comments to TS-related stories there, you'll notice that they have a few transwomen around. Their consensus is that any TS woman who is "out" is not a woman but a TS, hence a "he."

I'd argue that most of the super-right-wing women on Free Republic and other forums are TS, at least from the comments I read.

I must say their comments are some of the most enraging excuses for "opinions" I've ever seen. Not sure, but it might be worth checking into as for whether or not those comments qualify them as a hate group.

Of course they are a hate group.

But take heart, they hate a lot of people.

Trans are one of their minor preoccupations. And, as I said, some of those comments are obviously from TS women as well (I know for a fact that several TS women post there, in fact I came to know of the existence of that site through a TS woman here).

In fact, some of the most hateful comments I've read on YouTube toward TS folks come from other TS folks. So I take it with a grain of salt: it may be just people trying to rescue some self-esteem through trying to hurt others.

I found them dull, boorish and entirely unoriginal.
The only thing enraging I found was their sublime lack of intelligence. I'm always stunned when people can barely type a legible, coherent sentence, yet they seem to be able to operate a computer competently enough to get onto the internet.
Perhaps their caregiver did those parts for them?

Something Obama could fix with a simple policy edict to a Federal Agency and not requiring any action by Congress. Yet he chooses to perpetuate this damaging practice.
Presumably because it is OK to damage transfolk and cause them unemployment, after all they really don't matter they are not entirely human.

It is sad though when the right wing conservatives go against their own religion to score political points. But hey, it's their own Karma they're creating.

They drive obscene, smokestack equipped (no scrubbers) cars...and the women have no choice about having children. "Close your eyes and think of Dubya."

I found some of those comments at freerupublic hilarious. I wonder how many of them realize that Ann Coulture has a mountain of an adams apple. Not making fun of her for it, but she does have one, and in that one picture Amanda Simpson seems to lack one.
I did hear about this on Colbert tonight. I thought it was a good step in the right direction.

President Obama's appointment of Ms. Simpson tells me that atleast we are moving forward in the right direction. As long as she is qualified to do the job it should not matter what her gender is or used to be.

Although, last night in Dave Letterman show there was a joke about her. I felt it was disturbing and he went too far . Found this on Huffington post and they are also conducting a pole on this.

Letterman is pretty juvenile, and hopefully he will be spoken to by his network.

The problem is that we are a small constituency, and therefore ripe for exploitation. If we make some noise, perhaps we can convince the media that we may be small, but we are vocal!

Education/positive media exposure/and high level appointments(everywhere,not just in government)...that"s what it"s gonna take to get things turned around for everyone under the GLBT umbrella.I think that this appointment by Obama is a major turning point/milestone towards achieving a level playing field and acceptance by the general public.The main thing that needs to be done(as expressed in the comments) IMO is to try and somehow get rid of the belief that we are all just a bunch of perverted guys wanting to mutilate ourselves.That"s where the education part comes in,which I think is going be put into high gear now as a result of this high level appointment by president Obama.There of course will always be people that, for whatever reason,will never accept us regardless of how much talking/explaining you do to try and convince them otherwise.But I think that eventually they will become a minority.I totally praise Obama for taking this important first step,along with Amanda Simson also,who has a lot of weight on her shoulders now not only to prove herself in the position she was appointed to,but also to be the poster child for all of us.I wish her the best of luck!
