Hi, I'm the newest newbie here.

Anyway, I'm Tara; I usually go by the screen name TaraJo.

I see a few familiar faces around here. Many that I know from other sites online. Hi, to all of you. To those who don't know me yet, here's the 411.

I'm 31 years old, about five foot ten or so. Brown hair, blue eyes. I like the way I look.... mostly. But it's still a big change from looking in the mirror and seeing "him" stare back at me.

I've been on hormones since November 4, 2008 and the change has been better than I had imagined. I am just so, genuinely happy now.

Unemployeed at the moment, but I have plans to go back to school. I have worked as a nurse aide and I want to become an RN.

What else? I'm mostly lesbian. I can date men, but I'm extremely picky about the men I will date and, honestly, I just plain ol prefer women. Still, if a nice guy gives me a compliment, I tend to melt. Meh.

I have an "interesting" mental health history. Pre transition, I was extremely angry and had issues with depression. Not as much lately, but I also have borderline personality disorder which I am seeing a therapist to try to deal with.

What else? Let me know what you want to know. L8er!

Hey TaraJo- To put it bluntly: 'I was a mad MF when I thought I would be forced to live life as, and die as, a man.' I lived to fight, and fought to die. So I think I know a bit about where you're coming from. And like you, I'm DEFINITELY muuuch happier now that I see the light at the end of this transition tunnel. smile

Welcome, friend.~ Rach

Since I 'came-out' and started living full time as a woman I'm so happy it almost hurts!

Late last year I was presented with my university degree, never having had the chance when young. It was a dream come true and shows you are never too old to learn.

Until I 'came-out' I'd been on anti-depressants for 12 years suffering from anxiety and depression. Last year I went cold-turkey (with no ill affect) as I'm just so 'god-damn' happy!
