In Aymara/Quechua tradition, the best herbalists/shamans are itinerant ones, the Qollahuayas ("Kallawaya"), only speakers of a very ancient language, of a extinct language family (Pukina). Instead of using knots for writing, they use shells --but the tradition is to burn all shells to ashes once the Qollahuaya who wrote them dies.
So far, the language of the Qollahuaya remains secret, and they won't reveal anything about it to anyone who's not a family member. With other people they will communicate in Quechua or Aymara, though.
The group Raymi Bolivia singing a song dedicated to the Kallawayas, "Magia Andina" ("Andean Magick"):

"Populace above, populace below! What are 'poor' and 'rich' at present! That distinction did I unlearn,—then did I flee away further and ever further, until I came to those kine." --Thus Spake Zarathustra / Friedrich Nietzsche.
***A Note***-To anyone who decides to watch this one...it wouldn't play correctly for me unless I had the video set at "240p"(I don't know what it stands for,but it worked for me).So if it doesn't play correctly for you, maybe it will at the different setting like it did for me

Sorry, but you have no choice...keep moving along please...
The living past...here and gone...
Self preservation...the weak link between ideas and action.
At times when the bar is set too high...it's sometimes best to just go under it instead.
To die in the arms of a loved one...peaceful bliss.
