With modern technology, we need to be more careful than ever. Hence in some ways I'm a modern Luddite. If it works I keep it. My own camera is about 10 years old. Works fine. I don't have a cell phone or one of those new fangled all in one jobs.... Never had the desire, but this is important for anyone here who has one.

PhotoShop used to embed the name of the "Registered To" person in each retouched picture. Up to 5.5 the name was printed near the start of the picture. Then, it was coded but you could still use an hex editor to copy the characters and then decrypt them. Only when CS2 (PhotoShop 9.0) came out in 2005, the user name was completely removed.

Unless they are using some add-on third party filters. There is one in particular, used to create watermarks, that will include your name ('encrypted' into hex) when you create watermarks.

And this is one reason I don't have a cell phone. Chances are small, but it's the principle of the thing.

makes me glad I (and reinforces the reasons behind) never used facebook, twitter or having those fancy phones that will cook you breakfast while sending emails for you and birthday cards to friends in your b/day list automatically.
It's funny how for example american governments etc are super anal about security except when it comes to the average person, then it's the opposite and they want to know every step you make and who you're friends with and where you socialise etc. creepy.. and a little orwellian. : /

Simply be boring...then nobody will care what you're taking photos of.

Cell phones. Rude little pieces of annoyance.

The new generation use them to send text messages 24/7. Even to people who are standing by their side.

It saves them from the embarrassment of actually having to talk to someone.

I agree cell phones are a pain in the.... I'm convinced the next generation will have a deformed ear as a result. And I resent people almost driving into me while using them.

On the subject of security in general this is yet another example of people not understanding the basics of the technology they are using. Turn off the security issue, gps whatever, lock down the privacy. You wouldn't believe how many people have their Facebook profiles open for all to see. I'm a very private person so all is locked down

Actually, I use a combination of being boring and strong encryption.

Yes boring does have it's advantages!
