Rescuers retrieved Chilean Kristel Kobrich from the
water after the Olympic swimmer nearly fainted in the women's
10-kilometer marathon on Tuesday. Kobrich held her own among the race's
leaders for most of the swim, but ultimately suffered from dehydration,
forcing her to exit the event. The Santiago native was the only athlete
not to finish the race, which took place in the open waters of the
Rowing-Conoeing Park in Beijing. Photo courtesy Kristel Kobrich, kristelk.cl |
